Product details
My grandmother was a peculiar woman. She called herself Flora Tristan. She invented a variety of socialist stories, including the workers' union. She probably couldn't cook. A socialist anarchist blue-stocking! The author of these lines is the painter Paul Gauguin. He did not know his grandmother and has not read her books, admitting that he cannot distinguish between truth and fiction here. He was supposed to share her pride, stubbornness, and passion. There has been and still is much fiction surrounding Flora Tristan, who was pursued, idolized, and hated, and who is hardly known in Germany today. In France, in the 1970s, women's groups, women's shelters, streets, and educational institutions were named after her. In Lima, since 1979, there has been the Flora Tristan Center for Women's Rights in honor of her 200th birthday.
