Product details

Johann Günther incisively highlights the advantages and disadvantages of rapidly advancing technological development. He thoroughly examines the societal changes and psychological burdens faced by individuals, as well as the power structures within a technologized world. His thesis suggests that the social network of the individual loses significance due to technological aids; the logical consequence is an increasing isolation and a rise in egocentric thinking on one hand, and contact with more and more people on the other. The author, Prof. Dr. Johann Günther, was Vice President and head of the "Telecommunications, Information & Media" department at Danube University Krems; subsequently, he served as head of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences until the end of 2006; he is currently the director of the "Association for European Integration" office in Pristina, Kosovo.
