In a villa on Zurichberg lives former National Councilor Dr. Stotz, surrounded by portraits of a young woman. Melody was once his fiancée, but just before the wedding—over 40 years ago—she disappeared. To this day, Stotz has not come to terms with it. He shares this story with young Tom Elmer, who is tasked with sorting out his estate. Gradually, Tom begins to question whether his boss is truly who he claims to be. Together with Stotz’s great-niece Laura, he starts to investigate, leading them to distant places—and into a past where truth and fiction lie dangerously close together.
