The young history teacher Kolja finds himself in the Kazakh desert while searching for the secret diaries of the Ukrainian model poet Taras Shevchenko, where he nearly dies in a sandstorm. An old Kazakh man and his two daughters save his life. But this is just the beginning of a long journey and a tender love story.
