Bob Saginowski is a bartender. He is friendly and hardworking. And he is guilty. A guilt he has been paying for in his own way for twenty years - by denying himself participation in life. For twenty years, Bob has worked in Marvin's Bar, which has long ceased to be Marvin's Bar and is now under the control of the Chechen mafia. On some nights, the Chechens deposit the proceeds from their dirty dealings in Marvin's Bar. And on one of those nights, two junkies forget who makes the rules in this part of the city. The robbery of the bar nets them $5,000. For Bob, however, it is more than just an unpleasant episode, as the robbery brings attention: from the mafia and from the police. But Bob now has a dog: Rocco. He has a girlfriend: Nadia. And he has a dangerous secret.
