The birth of a disabled child fundamentally changes the parents' life situation. Mothers and fathers are confronted with numerous injuries and challenges. Many men cope with their child's disability differently than their partners. Caring for a child is a challenge, and a disability amplifies this challenge. Therefore, parents of a disabled child need support and assistance. In many cities, there are now support services available as part of family assistance. However, these often primarily target mothers or both parents. The main goal of this book is to identify criteria for specific support services for fathers with a disabled child. To this end, the life situation of fathers of disabled children is analyzed, and existing support services are examined.
