The energy sector is undergoing a phase of transformation. The existing structures, based on a centralized energy supply using fossil fuels, are increasingly being called into question. The rising global energy demand, driven by population growth, industrialization, and globalization, can no longer be met solely through mineral oil and nuclear energy. Furthermore, the emissions resulting from the depletion of fossil resources pose significant climate challenges.
