Product details

For a long time, men did not give women the opportunity to express themselves through writing. Ludwig Feuerbach already stated: "Being is the woman, thinking is the man." During the time of Goethe, Schiller, and Kant, women were considered less intelligent than men. However, hardly anyone questioned why this should be the case. Today we know that it was solely due to the fact that women were kept away from education and knowledge. This worked very well from the men's perspective until around the time of Romanticism. It was specifically a certain woman, Caroline von Günderode, who stood out as a courageous and self-assured writer. Many of her contemporaries followed her example with varying degrees of success. At that time, writing women were not taken seriously or recognized. To circumvent this situation, some intelligent women resorted to a trick, namely writing under a male pseudonym.
