Product details
This book provides a detailed description of the architecture and functionality of the Cell processor. Both convolution and Fourier transformation are then examined for their parallelizability. The insights gained lead to software that performs convolution in parallel on the cores of the Cell processor. The extraordinary performance of the Cell processor, the ability to work on problem solutions in parallel, and the processing of vector data types result in a highly efficient image processing system. Although the full potential of the system cannot be utilized and significant additional effort is required for parallelization, it is demonstrated that the developed system can achieve a substantial acceleration of image processing operations compared to conventional single-core systems. The measurements.
