Early childhood traumatization and attachment: demands on social work.

Product details
For about ten years, research in psychotraumatology has increasingly focused on the theorems of attachment theory, which was established in 1969 by the British physician and psychoanalyst John Bowlby. He had already recognized at that time that traumatic experiences in childhood can affect attachment ability and manifest psychopathologically. This paper therefore explores the question of how early childhood traumatizations impact attachment behavior and how corresponding disturbances in attachment ability can express and manifest in the thoughts and actions of adults. Furthermore, it aims to clarify the relevance of this topic for social work and what potential responses to it might look like.
