In this thesis, the author aims to create a guide that enables the identification of potential improvements in the efficiency of heating systems for buildings. To achieve this, possibilities for enhancing the cost-effectiveness of individual processes within the existing district heating supply network are first illustrated and discussed using the example of a property developed with non-residential buildings. From the proposed solutions to the problem areas of the example object, guidelines will be developed to help create concepts for increasing the effectiveness of heating supply, regardless of the building type (residential or non-residential). Since the majority of demand for concepts aimed at reducing energy consumption is expected to come from the segment of existing properties built in earlier years, the approaches presented at the beginning of the thesis serve as a foundation for further developments.
