Fast food has become a given in the modern age of increasing globalization, mobility, technology, and communication. The flexibilization of working hours and the blending of family and job have disrupted the daily routines of Germans. Hardly anyone still sits down for lunch with their family, takes a full lunch break at the office, or enjoys a complete, warm meal. Eating is rarely celebrated anymore; it has become just another item on the daily to-do list. This is beneficial for companies that deal in fast food. The present study looks at the current state of the fast-food market and draws a connection between what consumers of tomorrow are concerned about and what is currently offered to them in German fast-food outlets and snack stands. The results of an empirical investigation reveal the discrepancy.
