Product details

This paper deals with the process of globalization and its effects on social work in the Federal Republic of Germany. Following an introduction to the topic, a definition of the term globalization is provided. Several definitions are referenced to develop a definition that appears useful from a social work perspective. The next step explains the various economic-theoretical foundations of the globalization process. In particular, it refers to the theory of comparative advantage by David Ricardo and the counter-cyclical fiscal policy by John Maynard Keynes. Additionally, more recent theories (neoliberalism, ordoliberalism, Stolper-Samuelson theorem, Tobin tax) are briefly outlined. The next section of the paper provides a historical overview of the globalization process.
