A brochure from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research from 2006 emphasizes the importance of discovering and promoting individual strengths. One of the educational policy goals mentioned is the promotion of talents. However, before any support can be provided, individuals with exceptional talents must first be identified. Highly gifted individuals are not always recognizable at first glance. It can happen that their talents are difficult to translate into performance under certain circumstances. Such a person is referred to as a gifted underachiever or low performer. It is also essential to identify these individuals to provide them with the best possible support. With this work, I aim to present methods for identifying gifted individuals and explore whether the various measurement methods are effective.
