A lot has already been written about leadership, both scientifically and in popular science. The discussions about whether we need leadership at all can be clearly answered with a yes. Now, it must be clarified what kind of leadership is needed. Leadership models and tools are heavily dependent on the prevailing image of leadership. If leadership is primarily associated with a leader who must possess certain characteristics, specific behaviors, and profound expertise, then the corresponding leadership models are developed. These are based on the characteristics, behaviors, and even specific individuals. These individuals, once heroes, often fail today not because they are worse than their predecessors, but due to changed conditions in an increasingly complex and dynamic environment.
