The accounting of deferred taxes according to commercial law regulations has been newly regulated by the Law on the Modernization of Accounting Law (Bilanzrechtsmodernisierungsgesetz; abbreviated: BilMoG). The issue is further complicated by the abolition of the reversed relevance according to § 5 Abs. 1 Sentence 2 EStG. As a result, there will increasingly be discrepancies between the commercial balance sheet and the tax balance sheet in practice, which are the underlying cause of deferred taxes. The aim of this work is to examine deferred taxes according to the Accounting Law Modernization Act in the individual financial statements of a partnership. A focus will be on presenting the new temporary concept for determining deferred taxes, including a comparison with the timing concept previously applied in Germany. Furthermore, this study will address the question of whether and to what extent deferred taxes are relevant.
