The book addresses the problems and misunderstandings that arise when supervisors and employees come from different cultural backgrounds. It begins with a brief overview of current leadership and management research and discusses the concept of culture to derive a definition of culture. By incorporating various studies on supervisor/employee relationships from different cultural contexts, particularly the results of the GLOBE study, it aims to provide recommendations for intercultural leadership relationships and to create bridges of understanding. The focus of the analysis is on the Chinese Confucian cultural area, specifically present-day China. In addition to insights into the cultural and political background of the People's Republic of China, it also emphasizes the importance of consideration and understanding.
