The author examines the influence of cooperative learning methods on music education in this study, focusing particularly on the practice of ensemble playing in the classroom. To this end, it is necessary to determine the extent to which the two concepts can be meaningfully linked. Additionally, the question arises whether and how cooperative methods can support and promote music-making in a classroom setting. First, an insight into the characteristics and forms of cooperative learning is provided, along with a report on current research findings. This is followed by an overview of potential applications of this method in music education, especially for ensemble playing in the classroom. Chapter three delves deeper into what is specifically meant by ensemble playing and what forms it can take. Chapter four attempts to connect cooperative learning methods.
