Despite the economic relevance of manufacturing outsourcing and offshoring, the majority of the economic literature only addresses the relocation and outsourcing of support processes such as IT, HR, or Finance and Accounting. This study aims to help bridge the existing gap in the literature and provide an overview of relevant questions, criteria, and prerequisites associated with the outsourcing and relocation of production lines. The book is divided into three well-structured sections: an introduction and delineation of current topics, scientific definitions and representations of scientific theories on outsourcing and offshoring, and finally, practical implementations. At the beginning, the relevance of the topic is presented, specified, and narrowed down, using current case studies.
