Mentoring has become a popular personnel development tool in organizations and companies. After all, the principle of guiding and advising a young potential bearer by an experienced person can refer to a long and successful tradition – one might think of the advisory relationship between the young Plato and Socrates, for example. However, in modern corporate contexts, it is often not clearly articulated which learning processes can be stimulated in the participants through this measure and how these can be specifically promoted. This book therefore aims to relate the central theme of "learning" to mentoring processes and to create an awareness of possible development processes. Only on the basis of this awareness can personnel developers and process facilitators support successful employee development.
