In the medium to long term, Germany will have fewer people, on average older, due to demographic developments. This will be reflected in the workforce potential and the age structure of organizations. The current level of early retirement promotion can no longer be financed. Politicians, associations, and trade unions are calling for the challenges of demographic change to be embraced and for increased hiring of older individuals. In reality, both HR managers and works councils have so far approached the issue of changing age structures associated with demographic change rather hesitantly, allowing older employees to take advantage of early retirement options under the Partial Retirement Act. The targeted hiring of older workers is considered a sensation when it becomes public. In light of demographic change, this holds true.
