This study aims to create a state-of-the-art analysis of Product Information Management (PIM) systems. It defines what a PIM system is and what advantages it can offer to a company. Through a specially designed online survey, the realization of these advantages in practice is examined. This book addresses the following three topics: First, the topic of PIM systems in general is explored. It aims to clarify what is meant by the term product information and product information management system. Furthermore, it seeks to determine what the economic benefits of a PIM system are, who promises these benefits, and what impacts they are supposed to have. The second question deals with the perception of companies regarding the economic advantages generated by PIM systems.
