Product details

This book seeks to explore the thesis of whether it is possible to support children and adolescents in their development of identity and self-esteem through social recognition in play. This thesis is further explained and elaborated upon through a philosophical framework. Additionally, several theories of play are examined. Due to the multitude of game-theoretical approaches, the author will focus on the two approaches of Jean Piaget and Heinz Heckhausen. Initially, some classical play theories are mentioned, followed by a more detailed discussion of the aforementioned approaches by Jean Piaget and Heinz Heckhausen. The examination concludes with the phenomenology of play. In play, many educational aspects are enacted and practiced. Four fundamental competencies are addressed here: willingness to cooperate, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and empathy.
