Product details
In times of advancing globalization and deregulation, as well as rapid technological progress in information technology, the operational risks of the banking sector are steadily increasing. Particularly in light of the requirements of the new Basel Capital Accord Basel II, systematic management of operational risks in credit institutions has become essential. This study focuses on scenario analysis as one of the tools of operational risk management and examines it as a complementary instrument within the risk management system. After categorizing operational risks within the banking risk landscape and the regulatory and legal framework, the conceptual foundations of scenario analysis are explained, highlighting its particular significance in the area of extreme loss events.
