Making mistakes is part of human nature. Numerous proverbs and personal experiences highlight this fact. However, when it comes to the lives and health of people, the saying "to err is human" is quickly forgotten, and an expectation arises that does not accept mistakes. This book addresses the issue of error culture in professional nursing and explains the reasons why and under what circumstances we are prone to making mistakes. Building on this, the consequences of errors are presented from the perspectives of the affected individuals, their relatives, the perpetrators, and the institution. Additionally, against the backdrop of an error culture model, the concept of error culture is clarified, and it is noted that there is still a significant need for action in professional nursing. Finally, the book focuses on education and training.
