Product details
This work conducted numerical fundamental investigations regarding the migration behavior of rolling bearings. The term migration refers to caterpillar-like rolling movements of the bearing rings, which lead to a continuous twisting of the bearing rings relative to the connection geometry. The aim of this work is to develop a new approach and perspective for the design and layout of bearing seats in a practical manner. Ultimately, the designer should have ready-to-use design options and tools available that enable a targeted evaluation and execution of bearing ring seats with respect to slip and migration effects, thereby helping to prevent costly consequential damages. Various finite element analyses were used to investigate the kinematic migration processes in bearing seats for the first time through complex 3D kinematic simulations.
