With the advancement of information and communication technologies, a modification of work environments is expected. Many properties that are no longer used efficiently are suitable for use by medium-sized enterprises and meet the requirements to respond to future challenges. The new asset class of corporate real estate holds significant potential that has not yet been adequately recognized. Theoretically, the study contributes to the understanding of the term corporate real estate. Against this background, both the significance and the reasons for its currently low status as an investment alternative in the real estate sector in Germany are highlighted. The objective of the study is to identify and compare risks and success factors for competitive project development.
