In 2019, the Bauhaus will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Founded in Weimar in 1919, it moved to Dessau in 1925 and then to Berlin in 1932, where it was closed by the Nazis in 1933. In 1996, the Bauhaus building designed by Walter Gropius in Dessau was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Today, it houses the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, established in 1994. The influence of the art school and its educators was so significant that the term "Bauhaus" is often equated with modernity in architecture and design. Stefan Berg (born in 1971 in Bielefeld, lives and works in Berlin) has captured images of the building's facade and interiors. His photographic interest was primarily to make the building graphically and aesthetically visible, thereby making the idea of Bauhaus tangible. Berg succeeds in evoking moods in the viewer and providing an aesthetic experience.
