A pronounced sensitivity to light and shadow, humility towards nature and its inimitable majesty: this feeling envelops Jens Knigge (born 1964 in Eilenburg, lives and works in Berlin) during his winter journeys to the northern polar circle. His impressions of the snow-covered landscapes and the mysterious northern lights are captured in mostly small-format platinum-palladium prints. The contact prints from analog-generated negatives fundamentally reveal the failure of familiar forms of expression and language.
