Falco, born in 1957 in Vienna as Johann Hölzel, passed away in 1998 near Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Since 1981, he was a solo artist with the club hit "Amadeus." This was followed by further successes such as "Junge Römer" (1984), "Wiener Blut" (1988), and "Out of the Dark" (1998). "Rock me Amadeus" is to date the first and only German-language song to reach number one on the US singles chart.
