Thusinta Somalingam offers a new perspective on the field of education in this study, one that moves away from national orientations and focuses on cross-border educational work. Based on a diverse empirical dataset, the author demonstrates through the case study of the Tamil diaspora that transnational educational spaces do not necessarily relativize national aspects such as language and national consciousness; rather, they can also contribute to the reinforcement and reconstruction of existing national structures and trends. Thusinta Somalingam's work provides new impulses for the exploration of cross-border educational spaces and offers fresh perspectives for research on transnationality and diaspora studies.
