The foreign and security policy of Mongolia, located between Russia and China, during its transition to democracy and a market economy has so far not been the focus of scientific interest either within or outside Mongolia. This publication presents, for the first time, a comprehensive collection of relevant laws, concepts, and documents on this subject area. It demonstrates the high degree of continuity in Mongolian foreign and security policy. As the only democratic state in the region, Mongolia seeks to assert its national interests against its powerful neighbors.
