Chaos dragons and snakes are among the oldest symbols of humanity. They were integral parts of the earliest creation mythologies and were highly revered in prehistoric times. They symbolized the primal mother in the primordial ocean, who created all beings from chaos. Later, they appeared as sacred animals of multifaceted goddesses, representing the goddess herself or serving as her symbols. However, with the emergence of patriarchal cultural forms, the female creator goddess was displaced, persecuted, or even killed by male gods—mirroring the devaluation of women and the feminine.
