Since the publication of the first edition of the wire ropes, a number of research studies have been conducted that have significantly expanded the knowledge on this topic. The incorporation of these new insights, along with further improvements, has led to a substantial revision of the book. The presentation of methods for calculating important rope dimensions and their explanation through worked examples are a particular focus of this book. Accordingly, the number of worked examples has been increased.
