The Crucible
English, Arthur Miller, 1954Product details
Arthur Miller, born in 1915 in New York, spent his childhood in Brooklyn and Harlem. He studied journalism, English, literature, and theater studies. The great stock market crash and the subsequent Great Depression, whose social impacts he directly experienced in the 1930s as a dock and labor worker, are key experiences in his life and writing. His exploration of this theme in "Death of a Salesman" brought him worldwide fame in 1949. He received several awards, including the Pulitzer Prize in 1949, the Prince of Asturias Award in 2002, and the Jerusalem Prize in 2003. Arthur Miller passed away in 2005.
