I don't know how to lose yet
German, Elke Aichinger, 2018Product details
Who was Elke Aichinger? These poems and song lyrics, seemingly written with ease, are love and life poems of a different kind, addressing issues of marriage, separation, and addiction that affect everyone. They reflect the significant experiences of her biography, her breakdowns, her rebellion, her hopes. It is remarkable how Elke Aichinger lyrically and literarily captures her and our problems of coexistence in the simplest way. And how this musical, rhythmic principle is also echoed in her paintings, continuing until she dares to leap into abstraction. After a troubled childhood and youth, she found herself in the 1970s as a single mother of two in the Carinthian artist scene that had shaped her, from H. C. Artmann to Gert Jonke, for example, from Heinz Goll to Franz Moro.
