An old spice plantation on an Indonesian island, the whispering and rustling tropical plant life, the mysterious murmur of the sea - this paradise must be left behind by Felicia as a child. Yet she will never forget the words of her grandmother, the plantation owner, who says to her at farewell: "Goodbye, granddaughter, I will wait here for you." Years later, Felicia, now a mother herself, returns to the small garden: her son Himpies also grows up carefree, wandering the plantation and listening to the stories of the local servants, until one day a tragedy occurs.
