The life and thoughts of a great humanist, Erich Fromm (1900 - 1980), came from a very religious family in Frankfurt, and he originally wanted to become a rabbi. However, he then turned to sociology and eventually to psychoanalysis. After emigrating to the USA in 1933, he taught at various institutes. From 1950 to 1974, he taught at the University of Mexico City. With books like "To Have or To Be" and "The Art of Loving," he has reached millions of readers around the world to this day.
