A story about the intrusion of the uncanny into a world that couldn't have been more normal - until the day the sea disappeared. It's a perfectly ordinary summer in the small seaside town. Lena is serving at her parents' restaurant; tourists are coming, and at least there's a nice boy, Felix, among them. But then the uncanny happens: the sea recedes as if it were low tide - but it doesn't come back. In the dry bay in front of the town lies a sailing ship. "The Wind Bride" - reads the inscription on the bow. However, "The Wind Bride" is the ship on which an ancestor of Lena sailed 200 years ago, a ship that was believed to have sunk and been lost, with only the head of the figurehead remaining. It has hung for ages as wall decoration in the shell room, the attraction of her parents' establishment. The ghost ship out in the bay is missing the figurehead.
