In the whirlwind of growing up. On a hot summer day, sixteen-year-old Jakob simply runs away from home and sets off in search of his father, who mysteriously disappeared while kayaking two years earlier. During his journey into the unknown, Jakob repeatedly takes drugs, suffers a severe sunburn, and ultimately collapses on the shore of a lake. A mysterious Catholic priest takes him in and helps him unravel the mystery of his missing father.
