Cuno Amiet was born 150 years ago, on March 28, 1868. He is considered one of the greatest Swiss painters, particularly in the early modern period from 1890 to World War I. In this context, he holds a similar status to Ferdinand Hodler. As a young painter, he became acquainted with the works of Gauguin, van Gogh, and Cézanne in the Breton artist town of Pont Aven. This was his awakening experience. Together with Giovanni Giacometti and later Giovanni Segantini, he became an icon. The "Du" dedicates a special edition to him on the occasion of exhibitions.
