Helmut Krausser brings together what doesn't belong together: the most diverse people wander through Berlin, encounter each other, come close - always in search of happiness. A child is kidnapped, a midnight wedding is improvised, a neck shot is bought, the prophet Isaiah preaches on Kreuzberg, and everything is connected in unexpected ways. "Loneliness and Sex and Compassion" plays on the keys of apparent coincidence, mixing melodrama, irony, suspense, and laconicism into a bizarre panorama, an overwhelming kaleidoscope of life.
