The village punk has become a city dweller. However, he is not a happy one. An art student who hates art: poor, unemployed, unnecessary. At night, he roams the bars of Hamburg's red-light district, while during the day he kills time nursing a hangover, writing poetry, or visiting a psychologist – life is an insult to him! His only hope is the woman across the street, who gives him frighteningly beautiful looks. But when sparks finally fly, he takes flight and goes on tour with a third-rate rock band. The only problem: as a roadie, he has little chance with the groupies. "Moments of Meaninglessness" tells the story of everyday life in the waiting room of existence. The hero of the story is a loser, the kind only Rocko Schamoni could invent. He has declared life his personal enemy and engages in a ridiculous duel with it. Amid lovable brokenness.
