Laure is nineteen years old and suffers from anorexia. When she weighs only thirty-six kilograms and the illness becomes life-threatening, she is admitted to a specialized clinic. In the choice between life and death, the doctor, who becomes her physician, helps her. He is the only one who persistently fights for her. After a long time, he is the first person Laure opens up to. She shares about the part of her childhood that drove her to anorexia: living with her mentally ill mother. Three months of hospital life are depicted, during which Laure overcomes her wish to die and gradually develops a will to live and even a desire for joy in life.
