Product details
What type of diversification should companies choose to be sustainably successful? This question has occupied strategic management for a long time. Previous research findings show that neither focused companies nor conglomerate-diversified companies generally exhibit higher success. Rather, situational conditions play a crucial role in the advantages of one type of diversification over the other. Torsten Wulf analyzes the relationship between diversification and corporate success from a new perspective: he assumes that the success of diversified companies is particularly based on synergies between individual business areas and that the utilization of these synergies is determined by the management of a corporation. Therefore, he examines the contribution to success made by top executives and corporate organization.
