Structural violence is not solely a problem of political science. Realpolitik power constellations and culturally coded perception orders intertwine and obey complex logics that require theoretical-philosophical reflection. However, as a deep societal exploration, it is literature that articulates such a synthesis. Anne Lindner uses the debate surrounding the author Peter Handke during the Yugoslav Wars as a starting point to examine the type of structural violence as a problem of modern state societies through literary articulation. She approaches this on two levels: On one hand, Handke's texts are read in relation to political issues in their political exteriority; on the other hand, a conceptual toolkit for political analysis is developed using newer political theories.
