Product details
Supply chain management is becoming increasingly important in companies across all industries. Various incentives and requirements may necessitate the consideration of voluntary environmental goals and the corresponding expansion of traditional supply chain management. Using the food sector as an example, Peggy Sommer examines whether and how environmental protection and supply chain management can be linked, and to what extent the integration of both areas is already practically relevant. It becomes clear that while companies in the German food industry generally have a positive attitude towards environmentally focused supply chain management, they still rarely implement it. However, the integration of environmental protection is seen as an opportunity to achieve better acceptance of ecological aspects in food supply chains. Finally, the author presents recommendations for action.
