The TRwS 779 "General Technical Regulations" applies to facilities handling solid, liquid, and gaseous water-polluting substances. It includes general provisions for the design of primary and secondary barriers, including safety devices and equipment components, as well as for self-monitoring and external monitoring. Additionally, specific regulations are established for facilities for which the AwSV includes special requirements for retention. It does not apply where other requirements are described in facility- or topic-specific TRwS. TRwS 779 is now in its second version. In addition to being adapted to the AwSV, TRwS 779 has been revised in light of new technical developments and practical experiences. Furthermore, the regulatory gaps identified during the preparation of the first version have been closed.
