Many mourners and bereaved individuals are left to cope on their own after the funeral. Often, church communities are no longer able to provide the necessary support to the grieving. A new approach to grief support in the form of grief circles seeks to address this deficit. Developed by a pastoral team in a parish in Nuremberg, this initiative is now being implemented in many places in the German-speaking world. Over a period of three to four months, mourners meet regularly with the goal of overcoming their isolation and learning to live with their grief. This book presents the grief circles that have been conducted so far on the themes of "Path," "Tree," "House," and "Colors and Fairy Tales." The content and methods are explored, incorporating the experiences and suggestions of the participants.
