Product details
Gertrud von Le Fort (1876-1971) is considered one of the great Christian poets of the twentieth century. The Hymns to the Church were published in 1924 by Theatiner-Verlag as part of a series that includes a selection of spiritual works by John of the Cross, Angelus Silesius, and Alessandro Manzoni. They celebrate the liberating transformation of humanity through faith. This new edition is aimed at the modern reader who wishes to explore the mystery of the Church as the mystical body of Christ. The afterword seeks to clarify the prerequisites that enable a deeper understanding of this significant poetry and illuminates the theological, philosophical, and linguistic reality of the hymns in light of their sources.
